Why do we still use Alertra?

Don’t let Alertra’s new pretty interface fool you: their system still sucks. Took all of the time to enter a new “device”, customize all of the properties to what I want, tried to add it. I got a raw error message “JSON DATA INVALID SHORT NAME STRING LONGER THAN 8 CHARACTERS” and it lost everything I put, gives you a blank page. Back button? haha, nope. That gives you a blank page too.

I don’t particularly like Alertra either. RSIS Goal 483 talks about replacing it, but I just haven’t taken the time to implement that yet.

I have also been strongly considering replacing it for a while. Using http://www.twilio.com to support automated phone calls in case of an outage.
